Bye, bye, bye coffee addiction!
RISE AND GRIND with my turmeric milk latte!
Why I choose to stop drinking coffee daily? Trust me, I love the taste of a good cup of Joe and it makes me sooo sad to write this. I've cut down from probably 4 cups a day (yea, I went cray) to maybe 1-2 cups a month (for enjoyment) since January. Here is why...
1) ADRENAL BURNOUT - strong healthy adrenals allow you to have full energy but when your adrenals are overtaxed by stress and coffee abuse it raises cortisol levels
2) DISRUPTS YOUR SEROTONIN which regulates your sleep cycle and I AM ALL ABOUT MY SLEEP especially that DEEP SLEEP!! It also blocks your adenosine receptors
3) INCREASES BLOOD SUGAR - your body goes into fight or flight mode which will release blood sugar into your blood stream to tackle that stress
4) ROBS YOUR HEALTH - takes away a lot of your minerals and important nutrients
5) ROBS YOUR ENERGY - it actually "borrows" energy from your body vs. giving you energy. Again, totally puts your body at a state of stress...and why would we want more of that?!
6) STRESSES YOUR LIVER, especially for us women because coffee detoxify slower for us than men depending on the time of the month
7) IT WILL AGE YOU! It will decrease your DHEA levels (a hormone that enhances skin, sex drive, vitality, etc)
BELIEVE IT! If I can run a business, instruct 20 plus hours a week, be present at daily meetings, volunteer for a non profit, fit in my own workouts and personal agenda, and still find the energy to have a social life w/o coffee...you can too! Balance is everything so DO NOT cut it cold turkey. If you love coffee as much as I do, allow yourself to have it once in awhile ENJOY IT, DON'T ABUSE IT!
Blog Disclaimer - I read, research, and most importantly experiment on my own body before sharing my POV on anything. I don't believe in everything I read or hear so you shouldn't either. What works for me, might not work for you. Take everything in life with a grain of salt. With that said, I truly practice everything I post because l'm always striving to be better, and you should too!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! <3 XO
